Example of wastewater treatment: Example of SS&COD improvement in biotechnology plant! It is not difficult to clarify the discharged water~!! Application of functional coagulant PART 2
If COD and SS levels are excessively high and there's a need to improve the quality of the effluent, but no solution seems feasible, functional coagulants might be the answer. These coagulants can aid in the formation of flocs in the water, speeding up coagulation and reducing the concentration of suspended solids (SS) in the effluent.
Taichung Biotechnology Factory
Wastewater Quantity: 500 tons per day
COD Concentration: 200-500 mg/L
SS Concentration: 100-300 mg/L
Case Description:
The wastewater treatment plant originally used PAC and PAM to treat daily wastewater. The quality of the sedimentation tank was poor, with both COD and SS levels higher than the industrial area discharge standards. In addition to the basic fees, significant excess treatment fees were also paid monthly. Moreover, due to the accumulation of a large amount of sludge in the sedimentation tank, manpower was required for monthly cleaning. After on-site inspection by personnel from Gong Long Chemical, it was recommended that the plant use functional coagulants and assist in their implementation. Professional consultations were also provided to help the plant gradually improve water quality issues. About a week after implementation, there was no longer a significant accumulation of suspended sludge on the surface of the sedimentation tank. Additionally, the water quality in the sedimentation tank had cleared up compared to its original state. Analysis of COD and SS in the sedimentation tank also showed stable levels at 100-300 mg/L (COD) and 50-100 mg/L (SS).
▲The functional coagulant can provide an effective treatment solution to help improve the quality of discharged water.
